Masses of Orthodox Jews demonstrate on the streets of #Jerusalem to protest the IDF's forced conscription and to express support for an imprisoned draft-dodger named Meir Blau, who was arrested last week for refusing to serve in the IDF [IOF].
Israeli police responded to the rally with excessive brutality and violence. Mounted police trampled protesters with their horses, as officers on foot kicked and punched them. Numerous protesters, including children, were dragged by police officers. A number of protesters were injured and hospitalized; and at least 28 were arrested.
Police used water cannons to disperse the protest, spraying the infamous Skunk water as well as a blue chemical dye meant to stain clothing permanently.
